Orthobionic® and Bionicmobility®
Orthobionic® is the compass and engine of Otto Bock research and development. In technological orthopedics, we follow nature as our teacher and facilitate the creative transfer from leading biomechanical knowledge to innovative prosthetic and orthotic products. The starting point and goal of Orthobionic® is the person.
Bionicmobility® includes mobility and mobilization aids. Manual or power wheelchairs, rehabilitation products for children, and, for example, continuous passive movement devices are external mobility solutions in the rehabilitation technology field. Neurostimulation creates innovative therapy options for people through neural implants and functional electrostimulation that reactivates lost nerval / cerebral muscle control.
Nature as the Teacher - Myoelectris Example
In bionics, the ability to analyze natural processes exactly determines how close technological solutions come to biology.

Technology for People
Innovations are the milestones of the Otto Bock history of success. Aside from the overall design concepts, there are many detailed solutions that improve the functionality and quality of our products.
The search for optimization options repeatedly leads us down new paths and to creative solutions which mean improved quality of life for patients. That is the yardstick by which Otto Bock products are measured: Quality for Life.
This requirement was clearly the focus during the development of the C-Leg®. It was our goal to implement, for the first time, an electronically controlled leg prosthesis system that offers the amputee more safety and comfort on the one hand, and at the same time makes a higher level of activity and a natural gait pattern possible.
Combined with carbon prosthesis feet, the C-Leg® has set a new standard for leg amputees as a modern, high-performance system solution.
